On the road again...

Over the next three years, Ursula and I plan to drive from South Africa through East Africa to Austria in three stages. We’re calling the route Cape to Cairo.

I’ve been in Cape Town since the end of April and have prepared the car (which we shipped from Thailand to South Africa in 2025). Ursula will fly out in the second half of May, and together we plan to travel through South Africa, Namibia, and Angola until December 2026.

Award-winning Film about Paragliding

In the summer, I made a film on the topic of “Paragliding Oldies – Paragliding as the Ideal Sport for Seniors.” The video won first place in the Austrian AERO Club's 2025 film competition.

The 23-minute film is not about “higher, further, faster” but about the fascination of paragliding and flying in old age. The film makes you want to fly and emphasizes that you can practice this sport into old age. You can watch the film on YouTube at the following link:

Wir sind wieder unterwegs...

In den nächsten drei Jahren wollen Ursula und ich in drei Abschnitten von Südafrika aus über Ostafrika nach Österreich fahren. Wir nennen die Strecke Cape to Cairo.

Ich bin seit Ende April in Kapstadt und habe das Auto (das wir 2025 von Thailand nach Südafrika verschifft haben) in Schuss gebracht. Ursula fliegt in der zweiten Mai-Hälfte nach und gemeinsam wollen wir dann bis Dezember 2026 durch Südafrika, Namibia und Angola reisen.

Preisgekrönter Film über das Paragleiten

Ich habe im Sommer einen Film zum Thema „Paragleit-Oldies – Gleitschirmfliegen als idealer Seniorensport “ gedreht. Das Video erzielte beim 2025 Filmwettbewerb des österreichischen AERO-Clubs den ersten Platz. Der 23-minütige Film handelt nicht vom „Höher, Weiter, Schneller“ sondern von der Faszination des Paragleitens und dem Fliegen im Alter.
