What´s New

Just Starting The Third Section of the journey (Colombia to Belize)

After a month's break in Austria where I reunited with my partner Ursula Forster I returned on 26 March from Austria to Bogota, Colombia to continue my travel north. The next section (March to July 2018) shall lead through Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Belize.

The first three weeks I have been accompanied by an old friend of mine, Wolfgang Obermayr. Since many years we do sport together (kayaking, hang/paragliding, skiing, kite-surfing).

A special challenge will be the Darien Gap between Colombia and Panama. This 100km long section of the Panamericana Highway - for geologic and security reasons - has never been built and all cars must be transferred from Cartagena / Colombia to Colon / Panama by boat. Apart of the costs involved it is a time-consuming and buerocratic process which takes a full week. On 27 April I started shipping the car by ship in a container to Panama.

For June/July it is planned that my partner Ursula will join me again to travel through Guatemala and Belize.
